Day Four

Today was like every other day, exciting and fun.  We tried doing alot of group work but the internet was acting crazy like always.  The group activites were cool and fun. Doing a digital story for a class, will keep young students engaged in class.  Sourceforge will be a great source of games for students.
I think a digital story wouldn't be a great idea for a high school class, but having them make one will be fun.  The high school students will have alot of cool ideas and would really like that project.  With younger students, a person may have to do alot of effects in the story.  My group did a Robert Forst poem.  It was cool but i will wish we had more time to do it.
Jing is very cool.  I would have never thought of using that.  I would have just talked on the phone.  I really like the affect of passing a recording and resume to keep recording.  The different affects are very cool.  This will allow people to not talke over the phone.  CamStudio is ok but it doesn't do as much as Jing.

Day Three

Today was a great day.  It seems like each day brings better experience.  Working in groups are okay.  I'm getting to know every one better and better!  Working with them is easier and everyone voices their opinions.
The Promethean Board was very cool.  i felt like a small child on Christmas.  it has alot of different gadgets.  The Promethean Board has every tool a teacher may need.  Before I advise a teacher to use it, I will have to play around with it alot more.
The exercise about meeting the staff of the school was extremely helpful.  This will make my first day my introduction much easier.  Hopefully my introduction goes smoothly.  With a smooth introduction, It will make it a little easier to work with the teacher.
The observing and visiting exercise was fun but very informative.  My observing and visiting task will run smoothly.  The only problem i may have is a stubborn teacher.  I will also have to be upfront with them but not to aggressive.

Day 2 of Training

Day two was very fun.  The people became less uptight.  I had alot of fun.  I also see Jenning and Martha are letting us know our job can be fun but it also has to be taken serious.

Today we did more work with Audacity.  It's better than I thought it would be.  I see the now how it can be used in the classroom.  We used it in Windows Movie Maker program.  Placing the voice over a pic makes the pic more interesting.  Audacity adds more life to a still pic.

Windows Movie Maker was complicated program, but when we branched off into groups, it became easier.  This program is fun.  I can see my self getting bored, then making a clipto pass time.  A teacher can also have student make a presentation using Windows Movie Maker.  Students will be very excited to make a video.

Working in groups was fun.  I'm a people's person, so it wasn't hard.  My groupmates where very nice and considerable about eachother's opinions.  At the beginning, one person branched off because of a misunderstanding.  This problem was fixed with a small talk between the group.  I felt like us patching that problem up so easily was very encouraging.  Each person was invovled with the project equally and did their best.  I really didn't know what I was doing with Windows Movie Maker but with the help of my groupmates, the movie was made successfully!
The first day of training was fun and long.  I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't anything hard.  It was a wonderful experience.  The different things I learned was always in my reach, I just never looked into it or had any thought of doing so.  These this can be greatly used in a classroom setting.

I would use blogger for students to do quick typing outside of class.  It's very easy and similar to submitting an email.  Students will also think it's an easy way to send work and could view classmates work.  They can also add eachother, like a social site.  The following day in class, we could maybe discuss eachother's blog.

Google Earth is cool.  I've used this in my World Geography class.  It was cool, because we used it as a source to travel to different countries.  It was somewhat like Reading Rainbow.  Google Earth will catch students attention fast, because of the graphics and it's like a worldwide gps.

Audacity was ok.  I really won't use this in class.  I would rather have students stand in front of class and speak.  It was cool learning about this program.
